Amazing my friend...you are really coming into your own and I really like the flesh tone! Phenominal work...can't wait to see him come to life.

    Hi Anders,
I really like the skintone the eyes look terrific.

When I saw this I got my one out of the cupboard.
It must be a good many years since I started it in oils.

Don't know whether to continue the face in oils or Just
reinforce the tones with thin acrylic washes who Knows?

Anyway your paint job is certainly inspiring.

    Anders,

I also like it the way it is. I agree with Leigh, the large scales call for some subtlety.

    Nice work,
    Barry

Thanks for all the comments Guys!!

I will do some more painting on it this afternoon.

    Frank,

Yours is awesome! Would love to see it finished! I painted this for the first time in 1997, but after IPMS Open (swedish show) I decided to paint it again so I stripped it and painted it again in 2000, that paint job was stripped before I tried it again in 2004. Lets hope the paint will stay on this time!

    More pics to come!

    Hi Anders,

Thanks for the kind words, as I said seeing your paint job
got me to take another look at my one.

I think I will re-do the eyes they don't seem to show up as well
as yours outside of an enlarged photo and then finish the rest in acrylics

I am more than happy to leave the oil painting behind.
So is my wife, the odours always sent her to sleep
maybe not such a bad thing from a peace and quiet
    point of view,

    Frank

    Great to hear Frank!

To me Acrylics offer a whole lot more the oils ever did. You just have so much more control with them and you don't have to wait an eternity for the paint to dry.

Post more pics as you go!

Unbelievable! The eyes give really life to your figure and the skin's contrast is very realistic.
    Awesome work for a masterpiece!
