Very good skin tones, I like the five o´clock shadow, how did you rendered it? In my opinion he need some hair on the chest too since he´s dark haired. Keep posting new pics, looks very very promising.

Anastasios.

It seems Christos that you got the hang of the busts. Another medal is coming for sure :)

Thanks a lot for the comments!

Taso for the 5o'clock shadow I used some black and burnt umber for base, more burnt umber for lights and more black for shadows, very very diluted.

Anders for the fleshtones I used brown sand+red beige+english uniform+flat brown+magenta+s. skintone and vermillion(8,5,2,2,1,4,1).Photos have too much light. The bust is a little darker.

Christos, there are so many renditions of this piece out there, but I think that your is coming out as the best I ever seen.

Chris,
very good painting! Great flash tones and shading. Skin looks very realistic. I hope to see it finished soon! ;)

cheers!

The skintones are excellent, but I think particularly that you have done a great job of catching the eyes. He has sad eyes - I am sure the reality was that a pirate's life was not very happy (in spite of the fun that Jack Sparrow has!). I also like the mouth. A lot of emotion.

Nicely done so far! ;)
