Transferred from the WIP section, here's my completed Viking Chieftain.
This is a now, very old casting that dates back to the early 1970's, (at least), but still worthy IMO.
Painting full castings bring their own set of challenges as opposed to kit figures, but I do admit that I really enjoyed this one.

And I finally found the treasure chest I've been hunting for -- so it got added to the scene.
I had originally intended to put this into the display unit in my man cave, but I like it sitting there at the back of my workbench. Just need to find something else to place on the right of the clock to balance things up.

Also need to give him a name and make a suitable nameplate.
Thought Harald Skull-Splitter sounds good, but I prefer Harald Heid-Banger...

...I have it on good authority that ol' H the H-B was a real softy, being only an occasional fan of Heavy Metal and more inclined to girly blues-oriented mainstream AOR from the likes of Bad Co, Joe Cocker, Fleetwood Mac, The Who, and so on. In fact, I've heard he would even have his saga-bards do namby-pamby cover versions of Ronstadt or Emmy-Lou......on harps & horns...:woot:

Nice finish, Harry! Of course, it's a great figure to select to paint-the pose is perfect. He seems to say, "Where shall we pillage this morning?"

    Prost!

Yeah, like so many other Phoenix items, he's a great figure.
I'll make a nameplate for the wooden base when the opportunity arises.

Great to see this figure painted up after all these years and you have presented it really well with the ruin and the bits a bobs, I have this one in my cabinet that I done a long long time ago, I think he had a female in his grip, anyway Metal and Rock music has always been my essential companion at the work bench so it's a thumbs up on this one.

Skull Splitter is an excellent beer. Shame it's been years since I managed to get my hands on any. Asahi is good -- but no substitute.

    Hi Kev,
Have been studying the instruction sheets for the M4A3E2 "Jumbo" Assault Sherman and the Sherman VC Firefly models from Tasca today -- and almost put the boxes back into storage as they seem to be far more complicated than the two Tamiya Sherman's I've been working on these past few days...:wideyed:
So to take my mind off them I've carried out a couple of finishing touches to Ol' Harald Heid-Banger. Just have to do a nameplate now and I'll get the updated photos posted up in the appropriate FOTM section.
    Cheers
