    Greetings! I wanted to share some photos of my latest project. I finished this guy just in time for the Chicago show and got back from the show yesterday. This was one challenging and complex figure!!! Thanks for looking and any comments.

    Hi Jason;
    Had the pleasure of seeing this in person and just wanted to say I thought it was stunning. Your treatment of the armour, specifically giving it a "flat" or matte treatment inspired me to pick up the Ronin figure from the vendor area. So you owe me $109!:)

    I too was fortunate to see this one in the 'flesh' this past weekend. Outstanding. Your execution and the use of darker tones was top-notch. Actually yours was my wife's favourite.

    Thanks for the comments, everyone!

    ghamilt1 - I hope the armor doesn't look matte, I was going for a satin finish!

    Rocky - I did a lot of research for this guy and used everything I could get my hands on (books, magazines, movies, internet, etc.). If I could recommend one book as a resource for someone painting a samurai, it would be "Arms and Armor of the Samurai", by Bottomley and Hopson, published by Crescent Books. It's a gem. I pulled little things I liked from various sources and what you see is the result.
