    Greetings Planeteers!

I haven't posted in a while but now that I have some time on my hands I thought I'd contribute.

Here's my rendition of the popular 90mm Templar from Pegaso. Did this about a year ago and got pretty mixed reactions. In retrospect, I have to agree with the nay-sayers. All in all it was good fun though!

Anyway, base was scratch-built from bits and pieces, with the battlements shaped from 2 part putty. Everything was painted in acrylics. Enjoy!

    Welcome back to the Planet!

    Like it!

Roll dramatic music, select for lighting, as heroic character stands ready to beat back hordes of bad guys....

Wow Dickson, that's one of the best versions of this figure I've seen. Love the base too.

    Excellent result,Dickson.
The base is a superb effort but what i like most is the subtle soiling and staining on the shield and surcoat.
    Beautiful painting,well done.

Hi Dickson, l remember this figure very well from judging it at the Melbourne comp and thought it was excellent hence why it took out its category. It looks far better in the flesh than in pics and the pics alone look awsome. Top stuff mate.
    Cheers Andrew

Dickson, the base is top shelf mate- a mini dio! I also like your side crosses, their subtle highlighting and shading- very very nice.

    Looks great.
I'm a firm believer in using groundwork as a key component.
I think that it's important to establish a context for the viewer, particularly when they often won't be painters and see the finesse in the paint job.
    Use groundwork....tell them a story.
    Very well done.
    Regards

it just goes to show a bit of imagination can improve even the best of figures, although the quality of painting helps too
