Sculpted by Viktor Konnov and painted by Diego Ruina. Pity the missing arms, at certain angles, but in my opinion, an outstanding representation of the theme:

    Stunning!

Would look so good in a mini boxed diorama (looking into the cockpit?)

I don't think we've ever seen emotion captured this well. Nice!

Wonderfull bust, so full of emotion and Diego's paintwork is outstanding as always.

Hey Smudger I can see you building the whole aircraft to fit the figure.

What a clever piece of sculpting. The viewer (well me at least) subconsciously adds the arms, my minds eye immediately fills the space around the sculpt.
    Outstanding.

Great Bust! I'm not bust guy, but lately I have gained much interest in busts... soon I may try one,
and this is a good choice...
Brian I must agree with Don, I see you doing something very cool around this one ;)

Wow,very nice. Actually on this one I think the lack of complete arms is OK because they end at the same level as the torso, and the depiction of them leaves no doubt as to what he's doing. My only question is the blowing scarf, I'm trying to think if they used any/many open cockpit aircraft for Kamikazes or if they would commonly leave the canopy open during their dive (photo evidence and pilot testimony is scarce...:hungover:) . Anyhow, small nit and the scarf is probably separate anyhow, and it does add a nice bit of movement. I assume 1/9 or 1/10 scale?

Excellent work, both painting and sculpting. This bust has emotion and action usually only seen in full figures!
    Great.

I think Derek hit the nail on the head. What an incredible depiction!!!! The story immediately unfolds in your mind's eye to include arms, cockpit, story....Its so real you almost want to look from behind him to see what he is seeing!!! Its a MUST HAVE but I don't know if my skills could do it justice. Bravo to Viktor Konnov and Diego Ruina for a wonderful piece of art!!
