    Hi all,
returning to the bench after too long away.......
    (house moving, career changes......sigh)

Working on Pegaso "Charlotte de Berry" and a revisit to 'Chinese lady' (both 1/9 scale)

These are at about 90% for the pirate, and 45% for the Chinese lady..... I've stripped and repainted the Chinese lady, wasn't happy with the first effort. Still not happy with the Chinese lady, think the contrasts aren't there yet.

The Pirate needs more highlighting and shading, the current result looks a bit blotchy...

Feel like I don't quite have my painting mojo back yet......

    feedback welcome,
    cheers
    Jamie

Jamie, I'm really looking forward to following your progress with these projects but my own specialist abilities in this area mean I'll reserve my comments till the subject of nipple colouration becomes an important issue......Cheers.

    First of all....thank-you Gentlemen

I applied the skin tones with an airbrush (following the advice of Pepa Saavedra, her website here) and I'm going to follow up and refine with the brush...

    - Fabrizio, thanks
    - Colin, yep, you are right, :D
-Mark, gosh yes, so much hinges on essential small details....nipple colour is key amongst them!! :hilarious: :D
    - Arxo, thanks for weighing in
    - Wayne, also thanks!
-John, when a member of your experience & standing confirms that it looks good, that is confirming the ladies are progressing well

    Cheers!

Jamie, you want to break our necks! ;)
As other (better modellers and more experienced) members said: "So far, so good"

    Or : Good start, mate!

    Hi Jamie,

Great to see you back into it and seriously good effort to date on both busts. Glad to see you're under the expert tutelage of the nipple guru Mr Stothard.

    Osebor,
thanks, I do have a mental picture now of all these modelers falling sideways off their chairs..... apologies for any injuries ;)
    thanks for the comment (y)

    Tony,
thanks mate, having looked at the busts with the nice busts again, I think the gradual skin tones on the chinese lady are fine.....just now for her barely there dress/ jacket....

I have every confidence in Mr Stothards ability to guide me on nipple colour, after he confirmed my hours of research on nipple colour for the first China Lady bust I did a few years back... ;)

    Cheers

.....okay, I need to have 2 different files...... I've rotated these images right way up, and somehow, they get flipped back to original (camera?) rotation...

That's an issue for future me to solve....

Painted in the eyes, eyelashes & brows, the lips.....
Added some more colour to the flowers (they were looking a bit flat & lifeless)

The last image is of some feathers I'm trying to repaint as peacock feathers for the lady pirates hat..... I'll have another crack at trying this airbrush feathers tomorrow....

Still not completely happy with her barely worn jacket....

    Cheers for now
    Jamie

More work on the Chinese Lady. Repainted the hair-comb and pendant as Jade pieces - I need to really work on how to paint JAde and other gemstones...

Face needs eye makeup and blush for the cheeks. Lipstick needs work too. And soon the topic of conversation will turn to the heated debate on nipple colour....

Eyes are a bit off too, toed out in the gaze...more work.....

Better photos after a saturday bench time

    Cheers

    I'm calling this one complete....
I can't think or see anymore I can add or tweak, with out risking messing it up.....

When I have the base for her, I'll do full length (oh oh, I can hear the comments forming already ;)) post up, with a more controlled lighting

    Cheers
