Thanks so much Roger. I'm trying to get my painting eye in while I wait for Dan's "Man's Best Friend" vignette to arrive.

Here a few more pics showing where I'm up to at the moment.

    Hope you like.:D

Looking great, a real 'British Empire' face to it. A touch of weathering and you'll have a real stand out figure.

    Marc, Daniel, Derek and Martin,

Thanks for your comments guys, they are greatly appreciated.

Daniel, I doubt this will be finished in time for our next club meeting, as I'm working on two other figures at the same time.

Martin,I'm looking forward to your version of this version.

Great work Tony. He looks a bit clean are you going to add some weathering?

Definately looks the part, very Victorian and has a bit of a look of Flashman about him.

Georges, thank you once again. I can't read French, but I appreciate your comments anyway.

Roger, I haven't started to weather him yet, but I will onceI've finished the painting. The bootsand lower half of the trousers will receive a solid dusting with pastels, and the helmet will be stained.

Oh, and Georges says he adores the scale, subject and painting even if it isn't finished yet.

    Hi Georges,

Thanks for your comments (and Roger for the translation).

In between attending the Red Bull Air Race, gardening and trying to get some sleep I've managed to get some more work done on this figure over the weekend.

It's still along way from being finished and there are plenty of touch ups required, but it's coming along.

    Comments welcome.

    Excellent work Tony!
Only the trousers look still a bit shiny.

    Hi Mark and Marcel,

Thanks guys, it's great to get your feedback. Yes Marcel the trousers are too shiny. I'll give them a dusting with pastels soon and add some weathering effects.

The fit of the left hand and the sword belts needs a bit of repair work before I move onto the weathering.
