Many thanks for your kindness Cris,Jon,Keith,Daniel,Dan and Kathy.
I just thought I'd try something new in my sculpting, no where near as gregarious as my old mate Carl (sculpting's very own Godfather) although he did point out to me my work needed a bit of oomph movement and so on, the Victorian's were a fairly sedate mob, stiff upper lip and all that!
So as I've sculpted this chap yelling "vive La France" all full up with passion, after watching all the aristo's loosing their heads and marching round Europe and Egypt claiming anything for the new "Republic".
    Who needed theatre!
I did the last few bits to him while i sat in a horrendous traffic jam yesterday for 7 hours, could of started another sculpt come to think of it, I took a few up to date snap (below) this morning after a clean up, now he's off to Mark (Day) for casting.

Keith, he's a wee bit bigger than my last sculpt's they were 1/10 - 1/9 he is more 1/9 - 1/8 its bit of a fine line hope helps? (Jon Barker knows his scale's better than me by a mile no doubt he'll put me right next week at our club meet Gravesham Military Modeling Society next weekend).

I'd love to see this in the flesh at Gravesham Paul, but it's a Heritage weekend so annoyingly I'll be at work. Are you taking him along to Euro?

You didn't get caught in that snarl up on the bridge to the Isle of Sheppy did you?

    All the best,
    Jon.

    Hi Jon,
I got caught in the mess at Dartford crossing, traffic/bombs/traffic and more traffic then after 7 hours of being sat in one spot my battery died who'd of thought charging an iphone would kill a 24v lorry battery?
But I've been told I'll have some casting of this and the other bust I've finished by Euro weekend, now that's efficient!
I must point out I never expected any thing I was planning for October.

Marc and Lars, many thanks' for your comments, I'd like to think this is a forward step in my sculpting??

Jon (above) did kick me in the seat of the pants for using crap putty, so I got some fresh magic-sculpt from Elgreco Miniatures big difference, the putty I was using was meant to be real deal, but no! way off!!
Thanks' all for looking more so posting.
    Best Regards
    Paul

    Paul ,

A really nice sculpt , good to see you making full use of the traffic jam though ...be interesting to hear the police comments if they looked in !!!!

Great facial features on the piece ...any box art yet ...well you have your painting head on !!!!

I will I think look at adding a bit of a backpack as the back looks low .....please keep one for me when its available as I would like very much to see this in the flesh.......

    Thanks for sharing

    Bombs at Dartford, not again!

We live in terrorist alley! Did you see that fire last weekend at Gravesend gas works?

Glad to hear you're using some fresh putty from El Greco, that stuff you were using before was like old grey concrete mud! Hats off that you could sculpt anything at all with that!

    See you in the Southcliffe!

    Cheers,
    Jon.

Ah all of this talk of Gravesham is making me a little home sick.
The bombs, fires at paper mills and gas works, traffic jams. What larks Pip, what larks.
    Fond memories though.
    Cheers,
    Keith

    Hi Kev
no brushes on this just yet the plan was to get it sorted for October, you say about the pack I seriously considered making one, but the pack was carried rather low on the shoulders nearing the bottom of the shoulder blade,so it really would not be seen the idea for this came from the Edouard Detaille book.

    Hi Jon,
I'm staying in the Southcliffe as per,I have something for you!

    Hi Keith,
there's a big piece of me that would rather be where you are, no really!

Hi Fabrizio and thanks' for your kindness.

Hi Malc see you at the club, Gravesend is due to collide with Mars have you heard?

Hi Rob, I more than likely will have castings of this I've reliably been informed, as for John's stand no fine details as of yet,but he dose stock my stuff.

    Best Regards
    Paul

    Hi Paul,

Soirry I wont be at Euro to see this cracking bust in person, but I'm sure it will be popular. This is definitely a more animated character than some of your previous sculpts and in that respect it does respresent a step forward for your sculpting. Can't wait to see what happens next time your get caught in a traffic jam! Good luck at Euro mate.
