    Anyone actually buy this ?

I`m interested in it but at the price point don`t want surprises as far as casting issues and assembly problems.

'SON OF THE MORNING STAR" GENERAL CUSTER AT THE BATTLE OF THE LITTLE BIG HORN (MOUNTED)

    Any opinions very appreciated.

Looks like everyone kept their Wallets in their pockets on this one :(

Same for me. I would not spend too much on Andrea figures. Cast is not at the level of other Spanish and Italian top manufacturers.

However, you may have some excellent 54mm, especially figures produced in the late '90 and early 2000.

Well FWIW Richard I'd be very careful about buying Andrea sight-unseen as I've seen some pretty dodgy casts from them over the years and others have reported seeing the same here and on other forums. Plus if you're unlucky to get a dud part and you try to get a replacement directly from them they're not noted for being very good at replying to emails; although people have successfully gotten replacements it's sometimes taken many weeks or even months.

I can't give you an opinion on this one , but I bought the 54 mm mounted George Custer and for fitting of parts it was the worst mounted figure I've bought .

Thanks Paul, Einion & Chippy, opinions are sincerely appreciated.

I just remember their early work as so good.

    Hi Richard,
sorry I joined this one too late. The Andrea 90mm Son of the Morning Star is a really well cast kit in my opinion. The horse is in 3 peices ,Rider is in 1 peice with head and arms separate, saddle and 2 parts for saddle bags and rolled up buckskin jacket. Then there are 2 pistols in holsters, knife, rifle, hat and reins etc. plus of course the base.
As mentioned I am very pleased with the castings and the mold lines are few, just a spot of putty Im sure and the rest is no problem.I would reccomend this figure.
    Regards
    Pete
