    Hi everyone

I can hardly believe it my mate Jimbo has done a one off ....and not a leg in sight !!!!

Based on the WW1 character created as a morale booster to the suffering troops by Bruce Bairnsfather

Jimbo always wanted to do this based on this cartoon ..

By : image.jpeg image.jpeg ...originally joined a Infantry Regt as in first picture , the first shows him with gorget tabs for a Staff appointment

    Here's some more from him

Look forward to seeing this painted up ..not before BC as he should be busy with the Lord Flash and Baldrick

    ENJOY

Jim certainly has made a cracking job of him, I saw this at Yeovil Show and it is super. It would be good if he sold them, I would certainly buy one.

    Great ref. material Nap, thanks

    Cheers

Thanks for posting this up for me here on PF.
One thing I must point out before anybody ask "is this going to available commercially" sorry but it's not a scratch built bust, it's actually a conversion I done using a Young miniatures WW11 British Commando as a donor bust, therefore I cannot have it casted up as a kit for sale due to Young miniatures ownership of the original bust
    Cheers

    Thanks Geoff,
I may consider sculpting a copy of this from scratch at some point and get some castings done, therefore to be sold as a kit.
Depends if there's enough interest in it, so just considering it at the moment?
    Cheers again

    Hi Steve
Thanks for the input mate...yeah copyright is always a touchy subject, must admit I wouldn't like to tread on anyone's toes over it...Could call it something else if I was to do it commercially but then it's sailing a tad near to the wind, but then there are loads of figures & busts out there on the market that are obviously of a "certain subject" but called something different....anyway all pie in the sky at the moment?
    Cheers

'Ole Bill as sculpted by Jimbo reminds me so much of David Fletcher from the Tank Museum...…..the likeness is uncanny.
Can't get over Bruce Bairnsfather's cap in those photos of him in uniform - his tailor certainly had a sense of humour (and he would have been jailed for the shape of that SD cap in some of the units I served in!)

This is a cracking “conversion” Jim and so full of character. Love the Bairnsfather cartoons and always thought some of them would make interesting scenes in the 3D Figure world. I’d certainly be interested in one if you do go ahead.
