I posted pics of these figures quite a while ago but I wanted to have them on my vBench - I've also taken better photos. So apologies if you've seen them already and if you haven't seen them then I hope you like them!

Thanks for looking!
Edward

Nice one Ed, good to see them again...

Brian, if I'm not mistaken the Despatch Rider, earned a Gold at Euro for Ed a couple of years ago. its a beauty.

Very nice, Edward! I like the Prussian hussar, too--what scale/size is that figure?

I like how the Desert Rat came out, too, you captured a great expression in his face.

Prost!
Brad

Thanks a lot guys.

Brian - yes I painted it..
The reason i asked about the despatch rider is, i saw this figure painted by Raul Latorre at Euro many years ago and it blew me away,i would go as far as to say it's probably the best painted commercial figure i've seen ,even now.
Your brilliant version reminded of the time i saw Rauls.I have a photograph of his figure but it was before digital cameras were in vogue so unfortunately i can't share it with you guys.

Thanks for your comments!

Dave - you're right, I was very pleased to get gold at Euro Militaire for the dispatch rider a few years ago. (The WW1 pilot and the 2nd Punjab Cavalry figure got silver at Euro.)

Brad - the Death Hussar figure is 54mm, from Andrea Miniatures.

Brian - I've seen a photo of Raul's version too, it's amazing..

Not bad I suppose:whistle:

I must say though Ed, and I think you'd probably agree, the Desert Rat just may well be one of the best figures of all time. So simple yet so eloquent. It does so much yet looks so subtle at the same time. I'd love a go at one. And harder to paint than it looks at first as well.
