This is an old Poste Militaire bust that finally came off the grey army shelf. It is painted with acrylics. I think the blues are too bright. Should they be greyed down?

I myself would leave the blues as they are, Petey; great job. The blues do jump out but I think that is an attraction and not a negative.--

Love this old Post Militaire Rainy Mountain Charley Bust. Now I just need to track down a copy! Great work on the painting by the way. Well done.

    My Opinion

    Hi Pete,

This is JUST my opinion, and by all means.. you know how new I am.

I would like to see the blue on the blanket a little more toned down,
the reason being.. I like the color of his shirt. I think just by greying
down the blanket blue just a touch... it would looke better. It just looks
    a bit "bright" to me.
You don't want to do too much.. because then the shirt will jump out
    at you.

You did a great job, looking forward to seeing it in person.
    The face is great.

    Pete,
I like the design on the blanket ...is this from a reference book ? , I have this one in the gray army , got it when 1st released ...its a cracking sculpt and the facial details are superb . I like what you have done with the flesh ...suitably aged and wise !!!, ref the blanket I would lighten and shadow it slightly more ...more of a contrast with the shirt (possibly a little more wear and tear on this) ..my personal views as you have done a great job on this classic .

Pete you did a a first class job on Charlie. I am in the leave the blues alone group. You get better with every figure - I'm going backwards!!!!!

    Excellent job on old Charlie.
I would tone down the shirt. It attrackts my eye from the awesome painted blanket.
You should leave the blanket as it is.

Pete, very nice work here my friend! I'm also partial to the "leave it alone" crowd. I can't tell from this one photo if it needs anything to be honest. I think it looks pretty darn good as is. I'm of the mindset, if you want to improve, do on the next figure. you stoped on this one for a reason, don't look back, take this and use it to improve on the next. Hope I get to Atlanta this next year for a close up look!

    Thanks all.
The blanket pattern came from a google search on old Indian blankets.
