Very nice figure! Is it a commercial figure or a one off? I would mind paint one myself.

The cap is called a budenka or budyonnovka (several other names also) and it came from a Russian turn-of-the-century miners cap. It was taken up by the Soviets early during the Civil War. Cool but wierd, ain't it?

    All the best,
    Dan

This cap is developed at Tsar for reform of a uniform in army. The form of a cap is made similar to the Helmet of Russian knights. After Revolution all warehouses with a new uniform have got to bolsheviks .Red army has dressed a new uniform.
