Here's some more good news Colin, Fredericus Rex flats are available in North America from http://thelittletinsoldier.com/catalog/index.php?cPath=21&osCsid=fe8d73b3ea0eb22220bf203a6e98cda9.

Where to start? With something relatively easy, don't start too complex and get discouraged.
