    Hi Folks ,

Been working on this from Elan13 .

It is of course sculpted by Rob Lane and produced as a result of voting to select a piece for Euro 2017 .

    I reviewed it here: http://www.planetfigure.com/threads/officer-9th-east-norfolk-regt-from-elan-13.112337/

The piece is still available via Robs website www.elan13.co.uk

Based on this figure on the right

Here is the great box art by Edward Sage : z.jpg

In the original version Rob sculpted the scarf hanging down the back , I liked the fact he had a wig on as well and wanted to show the back more so I sculpted my own version of the scarf blowing about a bit .

    Here's the original one:

You can see my version here, hopefully it will look okay when in place !!!
    WIP 002.jpg

What I particularly liked about this sculpt are the details on the belt plate with "Britannia" and the gorget peeking out from under his neck scarf ...and of course that even in hot climates standards were maintained ...the only allowance being the headwear .

I might paint the neck stock in black and have a different coloured knotted piece hanging down ..not sure .

Sorry about pics ...new camera looms !!!

    Initial basecoats ....

    WIP 001.jpg wip 005.jpg wip 006.jpg

Here is where I am at the moment , uniform finished , facings done , belt/plate/gorget etc all done , the right epaulette is about 75% done , etyes done...

I painted the uniform first ...don't know why !!!

    wip 009.jpg wip 011.jpg wip 010.jpg wip 012.jpg

    wip 009.jpg

The uniform colour is more scarlet !!!

Starting to lay colur down on the hat and scarf ...they will be a lot different !!!

    wip 007.jpg wip 008.jpg

    Still to do

    Lace /buttons
    Neck scarf
    Left Epaulette
    Headwear and scarf

Must admit I am enjoying this, its got a lot of conversion potential as well to depict many units serving in the hot climates at this time

    All comments welcome

    Hi Borek

Thanks for posting , not sure about fascinating though ...more kind amazed ZI finish or at least get near to finishing busts!

Just say I do like Robs sculpting style ...he has a nice release a "Viking" warrior with a spear as well which I am sorely tempted !

    Happy benchtime

I have got mine to do as well, I can wait a little while longer.
I like what you have done with the scarf (great minds think alike). I might do mine blowing gently to to left.
    Following with interest Nap.

Looking really nice Nap! I may have to do a bust with a red coat just to stay in step with everyone. :) I think I have a couple tucked away.

    Love the scarf mod.

I like what you've done with him Kev. The changes to the scarf look good. I wish I had thought of that!

    Looking very well Kev.
Must again say well done on your painting of the face.n. As with your
2nd US Dragoons 1814 the subtle tone changes on the face sell it for me.

    Kindest regards

    Hi Guys

    Thanks for the posts

Rob ...nothing wrong with yours mate ...casting my version woukd be a nightmare I reckon ...going to get tge spearman you have as well ....when Carole stops shopping!!

Keith ...thanks for comments mate ...face not done yet just eyes ...LOL ...again for some reason did the uniform first again !!

Verbal up date .....uniform all complete apart from buttons !

.......rosettes changed back to the facing colour as according to the book by CE Franklin British Napoleonic Uniforms P313 " ribbons were same as facing colour apart from those with black facings which was red" .....

So based on the ribbon colour rosettes now yellow as in box art and Geoffs !

Still to decide on the neckcloth though ! ....

    Then it's the face

hair, wig ( was going to give him more curls as in picture ref but......not yet !

    and then the headwear .

    Enjoying this !

    Hi Kev
Best not do the face then..........you might mess it up;)
On about the buttons, I thought that they looked a little too small in diameter? Probably just a trick of the camera.
For the neckerchief we all lean toward the high lighted black but it would be good if you could buck the trend. Mabel a token from a loved one like a pastel green chiffon with a hint of flowery pattern in a slightly darker tone.
Hark at me, and the week end is days away.
    Good work Mate(y)
