Another beautiful release by Stormtrooper Miniatures is of a 16th Lancer Officer in the battle of Aliwal, 1846. Sculpted by the talented Carl Reid this kit is cast in resin and consists of 11 resin arts and wire for the braiding.

Packaging

Arriving in a sturdy white cardboard box the parts are sealed inside a bubble wrap pouch. Inside the pouch there are additional sealed bags containing all the 11 parts plus a coil of wire to use for the braiding.

Parts Displayed

Above you see all of the parts out of the bags for display. The sword blade comes attached to a small piece of cardboard to prevent warpage and breakage.

Head

Above you see the tremendous detail that Carl Reid is famous for brought out with Stormtrooper's casting.

Torso / chest

Above you see the four sides of the torso / chest portion of the kit showing the amazing detail sculpted and cast into this piece.

Hand & small parts

Above you see the front and back of the two hands plus the sword gilt and pouch, cast separately.

Arms

Above you see the outside and inside of each separately cast arm.

Bust Plinths

This kit comes with two busts plinths to give you an optional tilt for the bust.

Conclusion:

An excellent action pose not seen in many busts. Carl Reid has once again added action to this bust. Excellent casting with mimimal clean-up required. Highly recommended.

Great to see a bust with some physical mobility and a great "expression." Would like to see other busts of Victorian soldiers.
