…arrested on charges of espionage for the Czechoslovak secret service StB...:



Three days later he can be transferred without a doubt.



The secret service had blackmailed him because of his previous life as head of a workers' consumer society in Karlsbad and Böhmisch-Wiesenthal in 1932, where Frenzel had committed major embezzlements.

After the war, when officials from expellees accused him publicly of his misconduct during the election campaign, he sued them for defamation and swore perjury in court – another reason for the Czechs to blackmail Frenzel.

On April 28, 1961, the Federal Court of Justice sentenced him to 15 years in prison for treason, and he was also deprived of his civil rights for ten years. He is imprisoned in the Straubing penitentiary.




In December 1966, Frenzel (who acquired CSSR citizenship in prison) was exchanged for an arrested German agent and deported to CSSR.

He spent the last year and a half of his life as a state pensioner in Liberec.
