Served with the Black Watch in 2003 and deployed to Iraq with them, great guys. Only downside was they made me wear a kilt (not in the Gulf), what with coming from London I made sure I wore my boxers at all times. Still thinking of purchasing a figure due to my connection with the unit. I'll show the picture to some of my clients who were BW prior to the Highlanders and see what they think about it, and give some feedback.

Look forward to this great figure. Will be knocking out a 1 RHF chap, and yes, the TOS will need a bit of tinkering.

TOS styles morph and change a wee bit... but the TOS is indeed wrong... riddell_webster.jpg

will dig out some other pics and ref photos over the weekend...

But there were / are basically three styles of TOS worn - ironed (see pic of Ronnie Proctor above), "beret" style (see pic of jocks + CO at top of my last post) and officer... (Tos shaped in almost anyway imaginable - see pic of impromptu O group at bottom of my last post)...

Thanks very much for posting the pictures, good ref. All shapes and variations, some almost beret like and the last photos are not all that far off as Moz sculpted. I am tinkering around with one and will post the result, again thanks for the photos (y)

    Hi Rob,

How you going with the TOS? Have been looking at the pics of the skulpt again and the main issues that i can see with the TOS are:
    1. that it sits too high at the rear
    2. There is too much of a slope (rear to front)... it should be flatter (even if it is a beret style TOS)...

Happy to provide any further reference pics or assistance.

    Cheers,

    James

    Hi James,

Thanks again for the reference, really helpfull. I have tweaked a tam and as we speak Carl is painting it and I hope to release the kit next week. I don't think the original was too far off as some photos show but the new head looks more aesthetically pleasing, if that makes sense. I will try and post a picture of it tomorrow. I will enclose several alternative heads with the kit so it can be made as almost any British regiment including a helmeted head, though badges will have to be scratch built. Thanks for the interest.
