New from Sarnia Miniatures - 'After the Battle"

Inspired by a photo of a re-enactor at the end of the day it represents a musketeer who has survived a day's battle ,and is returning to the camp or hid home, exhausted. his cloths are a little dishevelled and he has bags under his eyes from tiredness.

The bust is resin, cast in 8 pieces: torso, head, arm with musket, three gunpowder flakes, hat and pedestal base.

The head is cast with his collar, this is so because he has long hair which falls onto the collar and it avoids any joins within the hair.

Even though it is a more complicated bust that our others, the price remains at £20.00.

    Available from our website: https://sarnia-miniatures.co.uk/p/after-the-battle-ecw-musketeer

As wiht all ECW busts, the colour of the coat is dependant upon the regiment he belongs to which give the painter a lot of freedom, details of the colours used by the different regiments in on our website: https://sarnia-miniatures.co.uk/i/ecw-regimental-coat-colours

    Hi

Here is a photo fo the unpainted resin parts.

As you can see, so that there is no seam within the hair, his collar has been cast as part of the head unit,

Interesting musketeer - but "after the battle"?

At least after the second shot...

    ...their faces looked this way...:

    And even their clothes.

You are right Martin ..colours tended to be duller, and the powder smoke would have really darkened everything...but the piece looks good

Martin - I agree and disagree with you.

Yes it is right that after a couple of shots the gunpowder smoke would have dirtied everything up, but since this bust was painted for the box art the painting has to show the details of the bust rather than dirt covering the person. If we were to be completely accurate most WW1 figures in trenches would have their boots covered in mud, but it is better not to do that so the customer can see the details of the sculpting.

As with all weathering, it is down to personal choice and what we each think looks best.
