    Hi,

I'm working on a little vignette depicting a.o. a native american figure.
I've done a lot of googling but I'm still struggling on the right skintone. I can use either oils or acryl.
( Oils blend best...) What would be the best mix of colors for the base, shadows and highlights?
I do have the book 'Flesh and skin" from AK but that isn't helping much since I don't like there final result.

    Hi Hans,

I'm struggling with the same problem, for finding the right skin tones for my Apache Lipan bust :nailbiting:

Have been doing some research, watched a lot of YT videos on how to paint different skin tones, but so far nothing really that much helpful.

Anyway, just found this video (just pictures, and some nice music :) ) of many different Native Americans, with some quite different skin tones.

While waiting for some wise advice, and if you know which tribe your Native American figure is, perhaps you can find some inspiration here:

    Cheers!
