    Hello everybody,
I have here a new figure I did for the north american brand MichaelMiniatures. This second equestrian figure was another challenge for me, considering it is a great subject for Sculpture generally and a long debate to motivate the entire composition because it is always displayed as a dialogue between rider and horse. The character this time is a U.S. National Lancer from 1850 . The Lancers have a long and distinguished history as a volunteer cavalry troop of militia and they were organized on 31st of October , 1836 at the request of Governor Edward Everett. The Lancers, as volunteer militia was also responsible for enforcing the law and defending the community from invasion and insurrection meet. Their organization is reflected as light cavalry, equipped similarly to the Polish Lancers of Napoleonic army .
I’ll hang bellow the main picture that served me for the subject:

'' In 1845 the National Lancers adopted a new uniform that consisted of a red swallow-tail coat trimmed in blue; enlisted men wore red and blue epaulets, a white belt, and light blue breeches with a yellow stripe. Officers were identified by their gold epaulets. They continued to wear the distinctive lancer shako. The Lancers elected to wear a red uniform which made a distinctive military fashion statement. The 1845 uniform, with minor modifications, was worn until 1935. ''

For the 1st step I used some copies of Milliput from the 1st equestrian figure of the same company if you remember the Archduke Charles of Austria so the scale is 75 mm .

So this phase will show the main compositional lines and the basic anatomy. In these last pictures you can observe that the big separations for the cast are already made. Soon I’ll be back with more pictures.

Hello everybody, I'm back to finish the presentation with the last pictures .
Hello Colin, the buttons are made with fresh Milliput. I pressed a small ball of Milliput on the area and then I give the perfect round shape with brushes. What's special to these brushes is that I empty the metallic part and cut them crosswise at different circumferences . You can find any tube and see if it fits to your purpose, I mean watch out first if it has the right size.

    Here are the pictures :
