    Welcome back Titan!

WIP = Work In Progress :)

For the skull, there should be more volume at the back and top -

I am having the same issues as our friend here. The problem for me is starting, I am having such a hard time getting the skull correct.

The problem with sculpting a head especially if the clay you are using is soft is as you sculpt you can end up with a pin head. As you work the forehead and you have to constantly push things back where they belong. One thing that can help is to have a bit more of a solid core to sculpt over. A bit of tin foil or some other solid form so it is not so easy to push things around.

But in some scales this is not really that easy so you just have to keep looking at the sculpt form every angle. Side, top, head on. Just keep looking and make sure you are not pushing it around too much. If you feel like you are not getting it or have just gotten to tired to see it with fresh eyes. Keep a mirror on your desk and look at it in the mirror and things you did not notice will pop out at you.

I have "updated" the skull, is there any improvement?

I think there is improvement, and you got all the face "elements", but some of them are not refined and shaped enough. Especially the nose and jawline below the ears. Upper lip should "sit" on lower lip - so the lower lip should be less pronounced. Also lips are not positioned on straight "plate", they should follow the oval shape of the teeth below -so push the corners a bit more in.
I think ears should be positioned a bit more back.

Pick up from Youtube anything You can find from Philippe Faraut-I find it very useful and he really can explain "how to do things" and what requires special attention.
If you can buy some of his complete DVD's even better...

Another favorite "tutor" of mine is Johny Brown, search the Youtube for this sculptor too.

    Hope this helps ;)
