    Hey all,

Been a very long time, but here's my latest: FeR Miniatures bust of a Wehrmacht Hauptmann c.1941 in 1/16 scale; my first serious bust, painted up in the usual oils over acrylics:

A lot of fun painting out of my comfort zone in this larger scale - this bust stuff could get addictive !

As always, any advice or comments are greatly appreciated.

    Cheers,

I'm with you re: doing a bust; however, you did a fine job on this one.

    Hi ,

That looks really nice like the uniform colour and the details you have done , it's a quality sculpt as well as a great job from you

Do hope FeR bring some more out in the WW2 series

    Thanks for sharing

Beautiful paint job, my friend! (y)
The skin tones and the feldgrau are spot on! Just awesome blending! Can't wait to see this piece!

Thanks so much for the kind comments folks - much appreciated.

Brian - I liked your version of the FeR Einar Erickson bust so much that I bought it recently too - it's next in the queue as "bust mania" begins to take serious hold of me!

    Thanks again,

    Brian

Steve - are you going to be able to come up for Sword and Brush in September? Based on stories of your Chicago antics from Alex McC. You're basically an honorary Canadian anyway :) !

Thanks Zeno - see you soon my friend!

Thanks David - I appreciate the kind words from another anachronistic oils guy ;) especially one whose work is so inspirational. Since I'm still using the same tubes of oil colour that I bought 25 years (!) ago, being an oils painter has certainly proven to be economical if nothing else !

    On to the next one!

    Very, very nice.
The face looks excellent, and the colours of the uniform are perfectly blended.
Being out of your comfort zone works very well for you.

Thanks for the honorary citizenship Brian it is an honor. Lol. Unfortunately Sword and Lance is impossible due to very heavy work obligations, I had to call in favors just to get time off for the Chicago show. Are you going to make it this year?

Like you, work keeps getting in the way of real life, so Chicago will probably be a miss for me; there's always a chance for World Expo in July though...
