Museum exhibit War Memorial

At our local Museum we do a WW1 commemorative exhibit each year. This year since it is 100 years after the armistice we are basing the exhibit on the long road home. I was asked if I could reproduce our local war memorial for inclusion in the exhibit. This is somewhat different than the usual sculpts and, for me at least, at a huge scale. The soldier was done in air drying clay but due to the problems of structural strength and cracking I made the Nike figure in Magic sculpt, 5 lbs no less. All finished off with some coats of gesso. It is approx 1/5 the scale.

I kept a rough finish to emulate the original artist's sketch versions.
