Just finished this flat today. It's based on a painting by Alphonse Mucha. I tried to go a little more subtle on the outlining and tried to do a little more highlights. I'm not convinced about the moon in the background and might change it later but for now it's staying till I think of something else.
Hope you like her, feel free to critique.

Great to see another one done Andrew. very nice. (y)
I reckon a few well placed highlights and some shading on the bottom edge of the moon should just about do it.

Thanks Roger, does she need more highlights or did you mean some on the moon?

I meant the moon Andrew, sorry for not being clearer. :)

Hi Andrew, very nicely done, especially the way you have captured the transparency of her
robe. I would have put a little more definition on the figure, shade and lights, but that is just a personal opinion.

Congratulations on an excellent painting job I particularly like your rendition of the see-through drapery,Is it painted in oils ?
Not sure about the moon It's well painted but doesn't look quite "silvery" enough
I'm a big fan of Mucha and wouldn't mind a go at one of these myself Who's the manufacturer?

Thanks Roger that's what I thought you meant.

Thanks Marc I'm pleased you like her.

Thanks Kieth, I did have the shadows darker but she started to look a bit butch and I wanted soft curves so I had to lighten it up a bit.

Thanks Peter, glad you like her. It's all painted in acrylics. I'm not sure who the manufacturer is I ordered it from the little tin soldier website. One of the flat enthusiasts here may be able to tell you who produces it.

You're a natural with the flats Andrew.;) The transparency of the robe is very effective.

    Andrew:

I've always been a big big fan of Mucha's work. . . and have several books
of his poster art; specifically the female versions of the four Seasons.

Your lovely work brought all that back to me. And I think you have done a
very skilled job of painting this flat.

So congratulations on a job well done, which pays tribute to an artist during
the time that the British called the Victorian Era. He had a profound influence
on much of what later became the Art Deco period, as well; i.e. the
repetitive design borders and floral patterns.

Nicely done. The skin tones and face are great, as is the transparent drapery.

    Cheers,

Thanks Rick, Mucha did some beautiful work I've admired him for some time now also.

Thanks Mike glad you like it, I find the flats great fun to paint and a bit of a different challenge.

    Thanks Glen.

Thanks Bill, they are great pieces to paint.
