Finially finished this figure last night and took some pics this morning. Its a 54mm ( large - actually 63mm to the eyes ) La Meridiana Miniatures. The snow shoes are from the La Meridiana Roger's Ranger kit. The base is from The Hussar Bases with the burl section painted, washed and dry brushed to represent a cliff.

Your paint is well done.
I like the rocks who give high.

But I dont really like the figure sculpted clothes .

Thanks for the feedback Costas, Markus and JP.

JP ~ The coat is too long and would not be worn while trapping beaver as the Mountain Man would wade into the streams to set the traps thus making the coat extremely heavy with the weight from the water. All the pics I have of Mountain Men show the coat about knee legnth or shorter.

GREAT JOB, Guy !!!!

Hi Guy !
GREAT JOB on the vignette, my friend :D !!!! Did you have to prepare the base much to incorporate the " snow " ? I got a couple of such bases from the Hussar too and the " cracked " faces seemed to be coated with a layer of wax. Just wondering how you got around this problem. Thanks and cheers !
Kenneth :p.

Thanks for the feedback Gary, Christos, John and Kenneth.

John ~ I used a product from Michaels called Snow-Tex. I spread the snow with a pallet knife and thinned it with water to dry brush it down the cliff edges. The Snow_Tex dries hard in about 2 hours.

Kenneth ~ I used Floquil primer applied with a brush to the cliff area. I then painted it with dark gray followed after this dried with a black wash. After the wash dried I dry brushed the area with light gray and then applied the Snow-Tex with the dry brushing technique.

Guy,
I need to get over to see this one in person! The painting of the "burl" on the base is inspired! Cool stuff!

Finally a mountain man. I thought you gave them up.
Well, this one need a honoured place between the other mountain man. I find him extremely well painted. Your base make's it off. The environment for the mountain man in winter.
