Hi Folks,

So far I've managed to work my way through three of the Nuts Planet Game of Thrones busts. Having never yet attempted to paint a female so far, I've been looking at the one of Daenerys for a wee while and making up lots of excuses not to start it, but finally decided it can't stay in the box for ever.
I managed to break the dragon's legs twice before succeeding to get them pinned suitably to more or less fit on her shoulder.
The flesh and hair is oils over acrylics, while the rest is mainly acrylics, with printers ink and enamels for the necklace. The dragon is painted in enamels and oils.

She now joins the other three to complete the set.

Any and all comments are welcome, particularly as I appear to have jumped in at the deep end wrt painting females. The 'Shieldmaiden' is progressing well, and eventually I'll be getting round to the Ribald Dragoon's 'Doxie'.

Cheers,
Andrew

really love these. all 4 are exquisitly painted. thought they were pictures of the cast at first. the metal work on tywin is awsome!(y)(y)

very nice paintwork on all of them. My favorit: Tywin Lannister.

Antony and Marc,
Many thanks for your kind comments.
Tywin was the first to be painted, and the group photo shows them in order of painting.

Cheers,
Andrew

Mighty impressive collection. Some very well handled details on each piece.
You're a braver man than me, I've never and don't intend to tackle painting female flesh and it looks like you've got the right amount of contrast on the cheeks and neck.
Well done (y)

Thanks for the kind comments Del.
I must admit that I used to have the same view about painting females, particularly when looking at some of the fantastic work exhibited by a number of very talented Planeteers. However, this Nuts Planet bust and their Shieldmaiden are so good, I felt I had to have a go.

Cheers,
Andrew

They all look wonderful and that's a fantastic set of busts (y). A great project...

Hi Andrew...Blimey you've been busy mate, nice work(y)
Hope to catch up at one of the shows very soon,
Cheers
Jim

Not that busy Jim. Nos. 2 and 3 were finished well over a year ago.
I'll be at Torbay on Saturday. Then visiting Salisbury and Thornbury (Avon), before turning up like the proverbial bad penny at your bash in November.

Cheers,
Andrew
