A couple of years ago I finished the first one of this kit and after it went to a collector I decided to do another one for myself.

Its a 90mm Miniature Alliance kit cast in resin. The flesh was painted with oils and all other aspects of the figure were painted in enamels.

guy/ as always beautifully done , i like the color on his coat , and the winter scene of the groundwork . i also love the bases you choose for your groundwork they go so well. i took your advice and bought some bases from ken thomas,i especially like the round with the recess top that you use .i look forward to all the pieces that you post .amazing . thanks jimmy

Thanks for the feedback Joe & Jimmy. Much appreciated.

Jimmy ~ I think you will like the recessed top as it gives your scene a border to work within.

Thanks Steve. His passport is updated and current. The Mongolian Eagle is a bird of many different colors unlike the American Bald Eagle.

well balanced, crafted figure

Guy,
like the finish,. particularly the attention to detail, such as the correct colouring of the bird. I know I might have done him with a white head.

Such results achieved with enamels is impressive (I'm still learning acrylics).
The figure is finished in a nice balance of earth tones, with good skin tone. Like the finish of the ground work, including the rabbit/ hare...

A nice sculpt brought to life by your efforts.

cheers

Hello Guy,

well that is a very beautiful piece you did !! beautiful figure, well painted, well presented on a beautiful base, it is 100% OK; great work !

I like the skin tone, and the muted colours of the clothing, and the red-brown leather arrow case with gold decorative elements gives this piece it's subtle touch of colour - beautiful!

Your eagle also is well painted, it is indeed correct to paint the head in a somewhat lighter, golden brown, this would be especially visible on the crown and neck of the bird.

On the issue of how to paint the birds of prey that you find now and then as an accessory with figures, allow me to give you a tip : use the following colours :

you can replicate almost all the browns and greys and even blacks and whites of the plumage of birds of prey with the following three colours, which can be mixed in many, many different proportions and endless combinations :

Burnt umber - Ultramarine blue - Titanium white.

Also useful are Gold ochre and Burnt sienna (for example for the "golden" hue of an eagle's head), and of course cadmium yellow for the legs, feet and ceres (fleshy parts) around the nostrils.

kind regards,

Johan

Guy, what does one say that hasen't already been said. Your technique is in perfect form here as I think it really brings the coat and boots to life! As mentioned, the red leather quiver gives a great touch of color. Over all, just great work!

I'm glad Steve mentioned the eagles papers, and that he is up to date. We just want to make sure the eagle is of proper working age and that he is not over worked. You know those mongols, hunter-aholics the lot of 'em! :) :)

Great piece.
The feel of a material of the jacket is wonderful.
I think a Mongolian soldier is reproduced well.
It'll be completed and I congratulate it!!!
