Its been awhile since I posted anything, but have finally got around to finishing this fine bust from Pegaso. I did a few little changes such as extend his goatee and the horse hair plume so that they looked as though thy were blowing in the wind, and heat treated the tassles from his helmet to suit the wind blown effect.
    Painted all in oils
    Thanks for looking

Top work Ben. I love the effects on his worn leather and metal armour, they're beautifully painted.
You've brought out the character in that face perfectly too.

Hope to see him up close in a couple of months at WASMEx mate. I'm counting down the weeks already ;)

    You nailed it (y)

Everything looks perfect to me; from the leather, metals and wood textures to the Asian skin tone. Brilliant :)

    Seconded.
I also like the finish you've applied to the bow and the perfect contrast of the red silk shirt against the leather.
    Very well done.

    Cheers,

Glad you like him. I really tried to push a few areas in my painting with this one. He started as a quick project, but ended up taking a lot longer than I would have thought.
Thanks Mike, but it wasnt me who you met at MFCA, I've never been to the States!!!!!

Cheers Francesco and Marc, thanks for the comments

Hi Smudger, glad you like him. I tried to get a faded look to the red and add a weave to the fabric, still hard to see in the close up, but it was worth a try
