Bit of a change from my usual camo patterns.

Been a wee while on this.

The flag has loads of folds and a lot of detail and is a large piece in itself.

I broke the decorative bit where the busby tassels go and made a new bit from wire.

Tried to make him have a mad look in eyes as he's bringing the sabre down to strike some French guy.

Hopefully will have the completed version at the weekend.

See what you think,

Gells

Quite a change from your usual routine, eh Gells? This is not anywhere near modern camo uniform, but I'm sure the reds and the blues are equally demanding... Good job so far.

Mario

Very nice Gells and a real step away from your usual stuff (y) He really has the battle fury look about him nice one
Steve

Nice painting Gells are you going to put any battle damage on the flag ?

Will be interesting to see the other version which I believe is coming

Thanks for sharing

Nap

Cheers Nap, Steve and Mario.

I'll weather the flag a wee bit but no rips or tears. The original is in quite good nick....just lost it's colour.

The alternative version doesn't include the flag.

Ta,

Gells

I would put a bit of blood on his sword as by this stage he had been through quite a battle to get it

Hello my friend. You say that you are the typical camouflage patterns?
I say to you is typical, excellent painted face. My compliments for the submitted work. It's great.

Great looking paint job Grant. I have my 75 paints to try out on one of these. I thought you may have gone for digi cam on the flag.
Cheers

Hi Gells, great piece of work mate,The flag looks great mate as does the figure and I like the addition of the reg't badge on the base, great work mate,I love Waterloo subjects

Beautifully done, the flag being nicely finished as well - flags are always tricky to get right . (Just a small point, he's wearing a bearskin, not a busby). Capture of Eagle and Ewart described here:- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charles_Ewart

Thanks Mike,
Cheers for the bearskin heads up mate.
I was just going to call it a hat tbh.
Any clue if he would have numbers painted on his water botle or canteen or whatever its called?

Looks great Grant. Excellent work on the embroidery, very convincing.
As others have said perhaps a bit of controlled weathering and blood, sweat and tears.
Not my area of interest, I might be wrong, but I believe that there had been very heavy rain during the two days prior to the battle.
Looking forward to seeing it in a couple of weeks.
Cheers
Derek
