It's actually a Thracian with a Mirmillo's scutum and gladius...Go figure. I didn't have a smaller shield, so it will remain that way...
I've always wanted to paint an African type skin, but didn't have any miniature corresponding. With the full gladiator helmet, no more worries!

Here it is finished at last.
I am quite pleased with it as I exactly obtained what I had imagined it to be in my mind.
Might not mean much to you, but I believe it is my finest piece.
I'm in a process of finishing a Greek Hoplite I started before the gladiator and I'll be back with a couple of romans...
