    Hi P'fers,

Just wanted to post a little project in between other ones, that are sort of sitting idle. Have been doing a few small head sculpts using sculpey/polymer clays, these are reasonably quick and a learning experience for me at the same time.
I've seen some improvements along the way with techniques etc. This one is an attempt at a head with the British foriegn service helmet on top. Have given it a lick of primer and a coat of Andrea base flesh at this stage. Your comments and opinions are always welcome and as usual the box of tissues are at the ready :)

    Cheers
    Chris.[IMG][IMG][IMG]

I think that looks pretty good-- actually I think it's very good indeed. Helmet looks just the right shape. He's an officer I presume?

    Hi Jon,
Thanks for the feedback, I think he could be an officer or just a damned ranker, like Hook or Hitch ;)
    Regards
    Chris.

Not too bad an effort there Chris, I would suggest learning to sculpt heads in 1/16 to begin with, once mastered in that scale you should not find it difficult to scale down or up.
    Nice work (y)

2nd pic is more than a passing resemblence to Nigel Greene as Col. Sgt. Bourne from the movie !

Very well done. As one who has trouble sculpting a button, I am envious of anyone who can sculpt.

I think you've done a cracking job on him Chris, that helmet can't be easy to get right and I think you've nailed it. Maybe you should do one in 200mm, just for the practice you understand, then maybe practice casting a few?

    Hi Steve,
Yeah totally agree, this is a 1/16th and I've probably done half a dozen so far, with a little improvement each time I think. Actually been using some of the heads I got off you as reference as well. I got a set of those adjustable magnifying glasses, definitely see alot more detail now compared to the glasses.
    Cheers
    Chris.

    Hi Scotty,
Thanks mate, I wanted to give this a go before I start back on the larger one. Casting might be something to look at down the track I guess, there's enough info and products out there to do that.
    Cheers
    Chris.

A little update, another base coat of flesh, a bit of white on the helmet.[IMG]

The helmet looks bang on Chris and that is a proper geezers tash.

    Hi Gordon,
Thanks for the nice feedback, I couldn't leave the tash off him, he just wouldn't look like a right geezer without one.

Finished with this one, gave the helmet a little sand to shape it a bit more and then painted it. It's been an enjoyable little exercise and learning experience.
