Well as promised here is a WIP picture of the Jackson resin flat bust that I picked up from Ken Farrar at Telford.
This is only my third flat, the previous ones being 30mm white metal, and my very first bust.
I called upon Mort Kunstler's excellent Gods and Generals book for reference and inspiration during the painting.[IMG]

Great start Jon and I'm sure you've already googled it but here's the actual picture I used .
    Oils or Acrylics.

    Cheers Ken

Thanks guys, it is painted in W&N oils over an acrylic base (Andrea & Humbrol).

Thanks for the pictures Ken, I had come across this one I just trawled through my book collection.

    Hi There,
Before you get to far along, his cap should be blue because up until before Chancellorsville when his gave him a gift of a new cap he always wore his old VMI cap

Thanks for that info George, I wasn't aware of that. I have references showing him in the all blue VMI uniform during the early part of the war, which I did think of doing by removing the lace and adding shoulder tabs, and then all grey but none with the blue cap and grey coat.

Thanks too Pedro and Carl. I'll hopefully get some pictures of Lee up too as these both need to be finished for my father-in-laws birthday on the 28th December!

Apologies for no further WIP pictures for these two but I was getting them ready as a gift for my father-in-law which is also why I have had to photograph them framed. Despite being a bit rushed I am quite pleased with them and they were great fun to paint; thanks Ken.

Thanks Roger; they have given me a bit of a taste for flats and I've got the Arcabuz Highland Officer bust to have a go at next.
