Leathers are a mixed technique of overlaying coats of oils and acrylics over a basic coat of medium acrylic brown . I do highs with acrylic mixes of brown english uniform, burnt umber orange and yellow
and i doshadowing with oils whips of burnt umber cassel earth and black

finally i seal withsome very dilluted washes of cassel earth oil color

Stairs are done with many many mixes of earth tones of acrylics including green , ochre , english uniform, ochre brown , golden brown, black , indian red , and washes of cassel earthe ochre and black , green oils

Really nicely done Costas. I think the weathring having been all "painted" effects instead of other types of weathering REALLY pays off here. Keep us posted, I to want to see this come together!

Costas, my friend, another AWESOME piece of work from your TALENTED hands (y) (y) (y) !!!!! I really like the way that your are inspired to create such UNIQUE bases for your figure vignettes ; you are a real inspiration to me !!!! I myself am bogged down with work, so I understand the "feeling". However, I haven't neglected my modelling and hope to post something soon. BRAVO, my friend, and I look forward to seeing the "enemy" come to "life". Cheers !

very nice I am interested in knowing more about your "tapered metal " technique and what did you use for water? Keep up the excellent work.

OK Tappered metal goes like that . Its not pretty much orthodox but its how i had it in mind and how it worked.

    1. Shining buffing of the helmet - or other metal
    2. 3 thin coats of acrylics - Valejo - mix of Glossy black, Oily steel , Gunmetal Blue
3.WIth a destroyed brush with few hair spread open wide, i tap on with a tiny amount of a mix from silver printers ink - cassel earth oil paint . More to the areas to be highlighted less to the shadow areas.
    4. With the same destroyed brush i tap with some glosy black tiny amount of acrylic. MOre to the shadows and less to the highlights .
    5. Apply 2-3 thin washes of Cassel earth oil , mostlky to make the shadows.
    6. Redo the steps 3 - 4 till you have the desired amount of light and shadow.
    7. End with some washes of black oil , and cassel earth oil to the spots you wanna tone down the shiness and give more shadow .

I hope it will work for you .

For water i use 2 parts acrylic resin material
