It was nice to take a break from my own creations especially to paint such an elegant well put together figure as this. Though as a metal casting it was a bit heavier than my usual stuff, but I managed not to drop it, at all!

Painted in acrylics from various brands using AK Ultra Matt Varnish as a mixing and thinning medium, the water was just to clean my brush.

Rather pleased with this one, it was a good buy from my daughter as a christmas present, she does listen.

    The cork sprouted! :D

Nice finish, Simon! I like your colors and especially your metallic technique. I liked your explanation a post or two back about how you're influenced by how you painted flats. Well done!

    What's next in the queue?

    Prost!

Thanks Brad, the metallics still need work I think but it's getting better. As for the next project pop over to the V Bench board and look for the handsome fella in the überrock.

These MM subjects are so elegant and full of 'presence' aren't they.

That's another little jewel to add to the collection Simon.

Indeed they are elegant, some of the best figures on the market IMO despite their age. Many thanks for your kind comment, much appreciated.

Another good one Simon. As a horseman, would he have studs on his boots ? I ask because these days the soles of horse riders boots have to be preferably smooth so the foot comes out of the stirrup more easily. Maybe it was different in those days …
    just asking :)

That is a good point that never even crossed my mind, even I'd inaccurate it's done now and staying done, no problem living with my mistakes. It would make sense to have the studs as flat soled leather boots would have no grip on a slick surface. Though from experience I know Ammo Boots take some getting used to if you don't want to topple over, best use is in a tug o war competition not the drill square!
