Well it's nice to wake up this morning to see great progress Ron!

I like the idea of the light undercoat on the shabraque,

and I've just noticed it's a winter dress uniform.

    Cool :)

Not quite sure whether they actually wore the pelisse on campaign as it was prone to the dye running ,but all contemporary artists show it either worn or slung ,so what the heck :D
And if Ivo Preda or M N can put officers on greys along with a lot of other artists. then why not

Nice. If you like it what the hell. If the other two come out half as good as this one it will be great.

    Great start Ron.
That horse is top notch... Great colouring and the tack is really nice. I'm going to commit a heresy by saying this but I'm not usually over the moon with MM horses without a lot of customizing... But this guy looks awesome!!!!

I'll be following this every step of the way.

    Very nice horse colour.
Looking forward to seeing your oil colour over the acrylic base on the shabraque.

    Cheers,

That is indeed heresy Colin :ROFLMAO: they do need a bit of work esp on the reins and such , one of the horses in this little group has been chopped up a bit with head removed and replaced with a different one and lifted a bit and turned to the side, but it will be the last to paint.
Thanks for the comments and looking.

    Hi Ron C

    Thanks for the interest .
This is getting harder as I go trying to hold the standard on three pieces at once

Love the subtle transitions on the green mate....much harder to achieve in 54 mm (y)......superb progress :wideyed:

That's looking very nice Ron. Do you mix your own green? I haven't been totally happy with any green oil paint I've bought, I'm thinking of going down the mixing route.
