Well, my Mermillo is finnished. There were plenty of detail and things to be painted.
Unfortunately I flipped through Military Modelling vol 9 nr 33 2003, Figures Special. and saw Adrian Hopwoods article about gladiators. I wish I had come up with the idea to convert him to a Retarius like Adrian did. Many good tips about adding some detail as might as well.

I think I will continue with other projects that have been partially done. Im now fixing Soldiers Richard I 54mm which were damaged during our move almost a year ago. This and a small Vietnam vignette with Verlindens bathing soldiers will be the next ones.

Thank you Figureteers for your nice comments. :)

    Keith.
The dust is painted on using a mix of Humbrol 63 Sand(which is the colour of the base) and Humbrol 49 Matt varnish. This to make it trancesparent. This mix is then painted on like a highlight avoiding the creases or the recessed detail with feathering out the edges.
Sometimes new shadows have to be added afterwards or just some to be touched up a little. I guess this could be done with all types of paint. One can also use a matting agent added for more dustlike appearance.
