    Hi All,
After seeing Ken's great work on his Indian wars projects it really inspired me to buy a couple of the Master Box sets. The sets arrived today and I set to immediately. I really wish they were 54mm as I have a lot of 54mm parts I could use, but I think I can manage the 1:35 scale.
This will be a sizeable conversion jobs from Union Cavalry figures especially in this scale.

Here is the roughout positioning I have achieved so far.

The scene will depict Melvill and Coghill fleeing down the fugitives trails in a vane attempt to save the Queen's Colours. The wooden base as usual from Pete's Bases.

Looking good ,so far. :) Really nice idea and I am looking forward to your progress.
I have built and painted this kit, its really great value for the money, I think I only paid about 12 quid for it. So you do not mind hacking it up:)

    Hi Marcus & Michael,
Thank you both really appreciated, I was really inspired by Ken who gave me the last push after viewing another of his vignette's. I have always strayed away from 1:35 figures because of the size but have seen Harry and Dennis in our club do marvels with them both converting and painting and as you say they are cheap.
I purchased 2 different boxes "Attack" & "The Final Stand" from Master Box, need to have a look at other manufacturers ICM etc

For this project I am using two of the mounted figures from Attack. I will use the trooper and dead horse from The Final Stand to make a piece from the battle of Hlobane mountain as a Colonial Trooper.

Here is todays work I have completed the sculpting of the base work and give it a quick undercoat. I will add grass to this once the painting commences.
    cheers

Superb Ritchie. There's no point in being bland or timid with a conversion. Where's the fun in that? You gotta go for broke or it ain't worth it. This is a very promising start indeed. In terms of the scales & parts etc, have a play with it and see what you can get away with. I wish you luck, I can see you're already having a ball with it. Funny, because at the moment I'm considering 54mm conversions in the subject area & scale as I'm running out of kits I fancy!

    Hi mate,
Thank you, I wish I had your attention to detail for this scale.

    Hi Anthony,
Thank you mate, it's not fun when you drop 1:35 parts on the carpet. If you need any 54mm equipment give me a shout.
    cheers
    Richie

    Hi Rob,
Thank you mate, a bit slow today it has taken me 3 hours to fill Coghill's horse, add the ears, tail and horse tack whilst cleaning up the Coghill figure and making some alterations.
    cheers

    Hi Oda,
Thank you mate, that's a big thumbs up to live up.

    Hi Paul,
Thank you mate, I must say I'm enjoying it even in this fiddly scale.

    Hi Jim,
Thank you mate, I'm doing like I would a resin figure so I hope it holds together>

    Hi mate,
Now look you I don't know how many times I have told you there are only three historical dates to remember. 1877, 1878 & 1879.;)

Look forward to meeting up mate.
    cheers
    Richie

    Hi Brock,
Thank you mate, it's all down to your fellow countryman Ken Boyle for this project.
