Hi all,

I've made a start on the recent limited edition figure by Maurice Corry. It's a great sculpt and it's a shame it's only going to get a limited release. The face is completed and was painted in Vallejo and Andrea acrylics. I'll be posting more pics as I go along.

Thanks Paul. I got the Inniskilling Dragoon which is a beauty. Don't usually go for 120mm but it was such a good offer.

Beautiful figure and I can't wait for mine to arrive. I found something else I didn't really want just to get this as I LOVE Light Brigade figures. I would prefer to paint him as 13th LDs but I will have to check out the comparability of the lace work first.

Following this one....great painting so far.

Thanks guys.

The free figure offer has been extended til 30th Oct.

Colin - For Light Brigade references I'd recommend Into the Valley of Death by John and Boris Mollo and Bryan Fosten. Not cheap but it's got good illustrations and photos of the actual uniforms.

Thanks for that Maurice!

Latest pics - I've basically finished the blue of the jacket.. Will probably do a bit more work on the shading and highlighting, and touch up here and there.

This is going to be hard to match! I do have Mollo's book but there isn't a lot there on the 13th. Great pix of the 4th though. Thanks for the link Moz - terrific for the 4th and RHA in the Crimea.

He is getting more and more exciting to behold. Light Bde. figs are some of my favorite subjects. I don't normally paint anything bigger than 54 mm but this one has been awfully tempting. Brilliant painting.

Thanks Edward- I will use yours as "how" to the figure- unlike my efforts! Great look about him.

Thanks Rob!

Here's a pic of the finished front of the jacket. I want him to have an 'on campaign' look so I've put some dirt on the white cross belt. More pics to follow..
