    Hi everyone

I've had this a long time base coated and ready to go so ......while waiting for Bases for the 2 US Marines this will be my next selection

Sculpted by Pavol Ovecka in 2020 I believe and based on this picture

    The bust unprimed IMG_1479.JPG IMG_1480.JPG

    Now all base coated IMG_1485.JPG

There have been other similar from different companies here's some pics , the first from Legion Miniatures painted by Vladimir Glushenkov depicting Marshall Konstantin Rokossovsky and the 2nd depicting Zhukov from Armata and painted by Michael Kalk

This is the second pattern shoulderboard for the rank of MSU, effective as of April 1943. The single large, silver embroidered star was now positioned at the bottom of the board. Centered between the star and the button is the seal of the Soviet Union. Backing is a gold brocade over a red underlay. The red bars on the wreath of the seal are indicative of the different republics of the Soviet Union (ie; Belarus, etc.). During WW2 there were eleven republics, signified by eleven red bars (five at each side and one at the bottom

    Hi Kevin,

That should give you a canny bit of bling to paint.
I look forward to seeing this develop.

You should try it in 54mm (Pegaso). This was my attempt some 11 years ago.

I think my eyes have finally recovered.

Good lord that as a really gaudy subject, literally insane amount of detail. Good luck with this one.

On a related point with that Armata version, the paintwork by Michael Kalk is astounding. That has to be one of the finest "hyper realistic" style paintjobs I have seen. The difference between that and the Legion piece epitomise the 2 different approaches in the hobby. Both superb examples of the painters craft but totally different and incompatible styles.
