    Hi all

Here are a couple of pics of my take on the Mitches Marcel Bigeard bust, which was my first bust since 1998. It has taught me a lot of how to deal with large areas of colour.
Painted using oils for the flesh and AV /Citadel for all else. Comments and critique welcome:)

    Bravo for this magnificent painting.
In France this General is almost a legend.
From a simple soldier he ended up General, famous for his commitments and his reputation in Indochina, but also in Algeria, he was even Minister!
This is the archetype of the paratrooper soldier in France, he is still famous and almost revered by all the parachute regiments still active, his the 6th BPC (Bataillon de Parachutistes coloniaux), now the 6th RPIMa ( Régiment Parachutiste d'Infanterie de Marine - new name of the colonial) was dissolved.
For the anecdote, his radio code name has become his nickname "Bruno"!

Thanks everyone, especially Zastrow - love the photos. What a legend!

Nap - thanks for lining up the three pics. Interesting to see how we dealt with it. I see Akaryu opted for the later and more recognizable 49/54 camo scheme (which is probably more correct than my 47/52) - I had a smock to copy though.
