    Hi Andy,
Nice start I will follow this one, I like the pose on the rifleman arching back for that bit of extra cover.

Andy, is this one that you're doing just for yourself, or with a view to releasing commercially?

I like the look of this alrady Andy, nice setting and great subject to depict, should look great in 75mm and be a nice size to fit all the basework and figures.

    All the best

Wow, love the idea, the composition, the strong thrust to the right. You're
just getting started and I can see and feel the tension, suspense and
atmosphere, (that's not the best word. But it is very early here in the
American Hot Heartland, my brain is scrambled and I'm old! of the piece
    already.

What a joy it must be, a sense of satisfaction to be able to sculpt in the
manner you do. Congrats on a great start.

    Hello All,
The work continues. Its starting to get complex with the shapes developing into one another. You see the curve of the bren magazine reflected in the planes of the arches in the architecture. The standing figure is framed in the arch above it.As the building of the dio continues these shapes will interplay with each other. It will be a tight composition to hopefully to reflect the moment in time at MonteCassino.

    Hello All,
Most of the masonry is done but there is rubble yet to be added. The arms of the bren gunner have been clothed.

    Hello All,
A netted helmet has been added to the bren gunner. There is also a medical bandage on the brim of the helmet.I dont know if this was the practise of British troops in Italy so it may have been adopted from the Americans.

    Great work Andrew,
Maybe you should look about the arc on the left. It seems that it is gonna get of the wall. There is a seam that isn't in the first pictures.

    Hi Andy,
Great progress, it is really nice to see allied figures being produced. To answer your question yes it was common practise for allied soldiers to carry field dressings under the helmet netting.
    cheers
