Last spring I traded with Joe Hudson for this hard to find Mandan Bust by Poste Militaire. I finally got it to the paint desk and here is where I am at now.

Hi Guy,

I think you are spot on with the colour of the skin. Not that we are experts on this matter here in Belgium though. We only see indians appear once in a while in old westerns with he "Duke" (my favourite childhood hero!) . Nevertheless it seems that you are turning this fantastic Poste Militaire product into a fine piece.

Best regards

Johan ;)

Thanks Johan, I appreciate the feedback. This bust has long captivated my interest due to their attitude sculpted into the bust.

Hello Guy,

You are in a toygarden the last days isn't??
I think you desirve this busts, and you are doing justice to them.
Great work, and i have to agree with my fellow clubmembers.
keep posting.

Hello Guy,

very nice WIP !!!!!

I really like the face's yellow highlight, well done.

And the pics are a lot better than the ones you showed me from your gallery.

JP

Thanks JP. Most of the gallery pics were taken with my old Sony digital. Unfortunately alot of the figures have been sold but I do plan on taking new photos of the ones I still have.

The Hat on the Mandan is almost done with the feather to attach on the back.

Hi Guy,

Recently I do something on all my news figures.

I paint the black of each eye in the same direction where the head is looking.
This makes the face more attractive and more serious. And that avoid an empty looking, if you leave the black in the center of the eyes.

Well, excuse my poor english, and I hope you understand what I mean.

An exemple is much better.

With the help of a drawing program, I modified the looking of you mandan here :

I hope you wont be angry with me for what I tried.

JP

Hello JP,

Not angry at all. I like the aspect of giving the bust a different approach. I may try this technique on my next bust.

I have been able to finish the hat and the cloth tied around the hat as well as the feather and attached them. I have also painted the covered pony tails and they are drying now and will be attached this evening.
