    very promising choice of subject matter. All that colour. Can I ask a question: The mameluke cahouk, I noticed the ridges sculpted in. What are yr thoughts on this? I had always thought the sides to be smooth, like a normal shako.

    Hello Victor. Thanks for your nice comments. You are right too on the cahouk. In fact there were so many different versions that what you say is true too. The 'smooth' ones I believe were used later.
