Alan, Thanks for the kind words. I would like to do a 75mm of Rogers at some point. If I were to do one it would come from this painting, only after getting permission from the artist.

Manfred, Thank you. I appreciate the kind words. The internet is a great way to share our work with one another, especially if you live miles from the nearest shows or there are no clubs around.~Gary

Here is a little sbs on how I do arms. The upper part of the torso where the shoulder is joined to the body it left flat. A hole is then drilled and piece of brass rod is bent into the position the arm will be in. The rod is held in place by a dop of superglue dropped into the hole where the rod is inserted. A small amount of vaseline, enough to just leave a sheen is put around the area where the arm joins the torso. I always allow for excess rod so it will be trimmed when I get close to doing the hand.

Putty is then shaped around the wire until the basic structure of the arm is roughed in. When the putty is dry, the Aves can easily be carved if need be to insure the proper proportions.

Luca, Thank you very much. I'm glad you find them helpful. Yes, I do measure the length of the arm from the shoulder to the elbow, and the elbow to the wrist.~Gary

Here are a few shots of the left sleeve. I found Ilike the left arm more than the right, as it's thinner than the latter.

Another view showing the left arm. The excess brass rod will be cut off.

    Ernest, Thank you.

Rafa, Thanks. I have too finish him along with some other things as I've been away from the bench. I guess my head is still spinning after spending 4 days in Gettysburg.~Gary
