This figure is part of a colective project, Proyecto Cusachs, that was planned by Juan Avila and Luis Esteban.
Based in the pictures and drawings of this great military artist (José Cusahs 1851-1908) more than 30 spanish modellers had made more than 30 figures that have been published in a book: "J. Cusachs. Arte y miniatura".
In adition there was a collective show in the World Expo at Geronne.
This is my humble colaboration with this fantastic project, now realized:

The painted figure. I forgot to say that the scale is 54 mm. so the pics are bigger than the figure ;D The painting seems better with the figure in hand.

    Excellent work.
Both, the sculpting and the painting.

Diegoo that's a really lovely piece. I really like the SBS photos too :) Is it gonna be a commercial piece?

Thanks, Megroot and Guy. The best pictures of Cusachs are in fact that of the daily soldier´s life, more than epic ones.
Vergilius and Kisifer, thank you. This figure is a one off as most of the figures of this collective work. The only commercial figure is a sapper of Light Infantry by Latorre Models.Diego

    Hy Diego,

Excellent work. I find this collectiv progress great. There are many albums, books in Europe from the 19th Century like this. Many sculptor chances for the future. I hope we will see more collectiv progresses...

    Cheers,
    Balázs

    Thanks Jay, Roc and Dan.
Thanks Balázs. There has been a great satisfaction to collaborate with so many friends and such a great outcome. It was a very nice the meeting at the World Expo for the photograph and to get our books signed by all the crew. And just in time for the 100th aniversary of the artist death!
I´m sure there would be some good illustrations of this same era about the Army of the Two Crowns Empire...
    This is the book:

Nice job, as always Diego. Of course, it is always a pleasure to work from illustrations when they are so beautifully realized.

    Cheers!!
