After a painting session yesterday evening and a night in the drybox this is what i got.
The metal is now mid and deepshaded. The first highlights are done. More highlights will follow.
The red fringes and the blue are done. Sorry for the blurred figures.
The cape has get his third layer. One more to go and then shading and highlighting.
So, let me hear what you think.

I like it so far Marc and the red and blue work well together, did you paint the bronzework in oils and if so how ?

    Cheers

    Thanks STeve,

The bronze is done in oils. First acrylic layer with burnt umber. Then a light coat with a mix of bronze and sepia. After drying a second light coat.
Starting with shading with more sepia, and lighter shading with burnt umber.
    Highlighting with more bronze.
    Thats where i am now.

This is shaping up nicely Marc!

Maybe increase the contrast on the bronzes a bit? I think the cuirass could use some more highlights and the arm armour could be enhanced with some thin and very dark lines between the different plates. Just a suggestion!

I look forward to your progress and will be following!

    Cheers,

The feel of a material of the metal is wonderful.
The red and the blue are also gorgeous and very beautiful.
I'm looking forward to completion of your work.
    Great start,Marc!

    Eindelijk.
Ik wist niet dat je hier ook aanwezig was. Toch prettig te zien dat onze club goed vertegenwoordigd is. Alleen wat meer postings met AMSS onderaan als link zou niet misstaan.
