I admit that the title seems somewhat incongruous when you see the painting of the guy - hardly the archetypal fighting man in velvet and lace..!! Lovely painting on the figure so far.

Perhaps Lady Caroline Lamb was referring to Byron`s other "skills" Steve.

You had me at hello...as the saying goes.Totally love the personality since he is a much beloved hero for all Greeks.There is a whole district in Athens named after him and there are people named after him too.I have a tender spot in my heart for Greekheroes miniatures (I have the entire range) and an even softer spot for Roger's beautiful rendition of these miniatures.So there will not be any doubt as to where my vote is going when this enters the FOTM category.Eagerly waiting for more pics Rog!

The uncle of a friend of mine owns a bakery in Aberdeen called the Byron Bakery, it is in Byron Square, named after.... you've guessed it, Lord Byron who attended Aberdeen Grammar School.
