Here's the start of my latest bust, upto now entirely made using 75% Super sculpey firm and 25% Sculpey 111.
She's a russian by the name of Lyudmila Pavlichenko the most successful female sniper of WW2. A very interesting character, 309 official confirmed kills and after the war she visited the U.S.A and Canada and was presented with an engraved Colt 1911 pistol and a Winchester model 70 rifle.

The face is more or less complete and still working on the hat.
I look forward to any comments and critique.

    Cheers Ken

Looking better with ushanka Ken. Will keep my beady eye on this. For the uninitiated here are some facts about this amazing woman.
Born 1916, in 1937 was a student in Kiev university but volunteered for service at the time of the Nazi invasion. In the very short time of 10 weeks her skills as a sniper had accounted for 187 enemy troops, by May 1942 her score had increased to 257. Later that year she was wounded by mortar fire and after recouperating was sent on a tour to the USA and Canada. She was the first Soviet citizen to be entertained at the White House.
In the US she was presented with a Colt automatic pistol and in Canada with a sniper scoped Winchester rifle. This can be seen in the Armed Forces Museum in Moscow. Promoted to major she never saw frontline service again but was engaged as a sniper instructor. In 1943 she was made a Hero of the Soviet Union and in 1967 was the subject of a Soviet postage stamp. She died in 1974 and is buried in the Novodevichy cemetery in Moscow.
During the war years the folk singer Woody Guthrie wrote a song in her honour.
What a superb subject for one of your heroine collection Ken.

And she's a babe too Ken.

I really like your focus on women in combat. You've added a much needed extra dimension to this very male dominated hobby of ours.
